Requirements for a Provisional
Licence
To legally ride a motorcycle on the road you
must
- Be at least 17 or older or 16 for a moped
- Have a driving licence which allows you
to ride motorcycles (category A)
A motorcycle provisional licence can
take the following guises:
- A provisional driving licence with motorcycle
entitlement
- Full car licence. This automatically provides
provisional motorcycle entitlement
- Full motorcycle licence
- Full moped licence. if you're 17 years
or over
A Provisional Bike Licence allows you to ride
a motorcycle up to 125cc with a max. power output
of 11kw / 14.6bhp
